EAST….A Sense of Direction

There’s nothing quite like a little ray of sunshine on a gloomy day is there? And that’s exactly what I got yesterday when I went along to the EAST Clothing, summer press day.

The fashion world is of course topsy turvy, so whilst we’re all manically buying chunky knits and oversized outerwear, the fash pack are eyeing up next summers’ hottest trends.  EAST packed a colourful punch as soon as I walked in the door, I honestly didn’t know where to start, but fell hard for a burnt orange, embroidered trophy style jacket, at least three beautiful cover-ups just perfect for next summer’s beach hols and an ultra fashion forward, linen wide leg pant and matching shirt (you can see that below in their campaign shots) that looked like denim but will actually be much more wearable because it’s linen.

Along side all the loveliness was the chance to get henna tattoos!  I’m partial to a bit of ink but have never had henna so jumped at the chance.  Have a look below.

If EAST isn’t a brand you’ve come across before they are definitely one to consider.  I love the fact that they always give a nod to the big trends but are never driven by them, concentrating more on items that will stand the test of time, and you’ll always find natural fabrics, beautiful colours, textures and a thoughtfulness in their collections.

EAST are currently supporting the Key to Freedom project which was set up to support the Women’s Interlink Foundation.  The WIF provide vulnerable young women who have suffered domestic abuse or been trafficked into the sex trade in West Bengal,  skills and the opportunity to earn a living income.  These women have designed and made a collection of bags, scarves and purses that are available in-store and online, with all (yes that’s right, ALL) proceeds going to the WIF, helping them continue they’re important work.  The collection is beautiful and supports a wonderful project, no need for any excuses on why you’ve been splurging then.  Have a look below.
