Cheers to the New Year

Happy New Year!! I’m not sure if it’s ok to still be dishing out the HNY greetings but this is the first blog of 2018 and we’ve made it through the tough first week of January, so I’m saying cheers to that, but with a difference in the cheers as I’ve swapped my nightly glass of prosecco for a cup of delicious Zaggora evening tea.

Before Christmas I was being good, working out hard and supplementing my diet with Zaggora’s protein, obviously over the festive period we all relax the reigns on eating, drinking and working out, but I also found that my bedtime routine went to pot! Getting up late, going to bed even later and it wasn’t just me but the the kids too, now we’re all trying to get back to normality and it’s hard to just switch off.

One of my biggest resolutions for 2018 is to be the healthiest version of me I can be.  Since having my second baby lots of things have taken a backseat and whilst I go to the gym regularly I’ve neglected other areas of my life that ensure I’m a fit, strong and healthy Mumma in body and mind.

I’m not one of those people who thrives on little sleep so getting my sleep pattern back to normal has been essential.  Just before Christmas I received an early Christmas prezzie from the lovely Zaggora team which included their detox evening tea and a yummy new protein to try in Chocolate Coconut.  The tea is infused with chamomile and lavender, in a loose leaf pyramid bag that I’ve been drinking in the evening, about an hour before bed, which has definitely helped with my winding down and I’ve found getting to sleep much easier.  Chamomile is also great for an upset stomach and can also help soothe cramps around that ‘time of the month”!

You already know I’m a big fan of the Zaggor protein (mango is my fav), I’ve tried many different brands over the years but this one seems to work really well for me.  Having a smoothie protein powder fits into my healthier New Year too as I tend to be one of those who skips breakfast.  I like to train on an empty stomach so having a good protein shake I can guzzle after a workout is a must, otherwise I get ravenous and end up scoffing a chocolate bar in the car later!

So here’s to a New Year full of good things for all of us whatever your resolutions may involve, we want to learn Spanish as a family (I’m worried the kids are going to show us up) and I’m working on my planning because I’m a bit of a ‘fly by the seat of your pants’ gal!  I’d love to hear what yours are if you’ve set any and how you’re getting on.

If you’re interested in knowing more about Zaggora have a read of their story because there is much more to them that just active wear and smoothie proteins.
