The white shirt! That elusive item that every fashionista worth her Louboutins owns, but for many of us it seems to elude. Along with jeans, I find the perfect white shirt one of the most essential but hardest items to find for your wardrobe. Personally I’ve ordered and returned more white shirts than I can count; too big, too small, too stiff, too floaty, no pockets, too many pockets – you name it, it’s not been right, but if like me you’re on a never ending search for the perfect white shirt I’m hear to help!
The best place to start is by working out what you want to get out of this hard working wardrobe essential. I love an oversized style that can be dressed up or down, chucked on over a bikini and denim cut-offs but will also work well with leather trews and heels. If you’re a boho babe maybe you want something collarless and with wider sleeves, or maybe you’re looking for a shirt dress than can be teamed over jeans and under a chunky knit whilst we’re waiting for the summer sunshine, when it can then be worn bare legged and with sandals. Well, why don’t we take a peak at some street style sirens to get our outfit inspo flowing.

Having a quick look at the ways other people wear their whites is great for outfit ideas. The classic combo of white shirt and blue jeans can be funked up with a little neck scarf, but it can also make a super sparkly evening skirt become part of your everyday wardrobe, showcasing it’s versatility and proving it’s worth the search.
Here are a few of my high street favourites, some brand new and others in the sale (which are still going strong) making now the perfect time to invest in this classic – well as soon as January payday comes!
I’ve linked them all below the images if any in particular catch your eye.
