Monday Musings

Here we go again, Monday does come round quickly doesn’t it?!  I hope you enjoyed my first Monday Musings last week?  Let me know if it influenced any of your purchases or inspired you to look at something new.

This week my main focus is jeans.  I live in denim and on Friday afternoon almost cried on realising my derrière was slightly colder than usual whilst being housed in my favourite jeans, which I’d worn to death and were sporting a hole in the bum!  Of course they now need replacing ASAP and I’m thinking Levi’s are the way forward.  I’m loving the 721 high rise skinny, essential after two kids, and they come in multiple colour ways, so you know if they fit good I’ll be taking a pair in every option.  And do you know what looks great with denim?  A little leopard print.  Sheer is big for summer but if you’re conscious of flashing to much flesh look for pieces that also have an all over print.  This & Other Stories top is ticking all my leopard loving boxes and is only £27!

Whilst scoping out stripes for a client this week I came across an incredible maxi dress from PrettyLittleThing on the ASOS website.  The stripes are big, bold and beautiful, the cut is super flattering and it has pockets!  I’d be tempted to layer over skinny jeans with heels to wear now, then all the way through summer with sandals or my Stan Smiths.  The other item that had me seeing stripes was a pair of sock boots from River Island I’ve not invested in a sock boot yet and have been wondered if now it’s too late, but with the mid-season sales in full swing it would be rude not to -right?!  The other sale splurge (is it even a splurge if it’s in the sale?) sitting in my virtual basket right now is this Anya Co-Ord from Freepeople.  If the bold brights and sugar sweet pastel colours of summer scare the living daylights out of you, then top to toe neutrals are the chicest alternative, and Freepeople give you a whole outfit for under £60 that’s understated yet exciting, put together but still casual…Race you to the checkout!

On the beauty front I’m running extremely low on my favourite foundation from The Ordinary, this baby replaced my previous all time fav from YSL and saved me £30 in the process!  And lastly my hands are looking like they belong to an 85 year old, mainly due to this cold blast, constantly having them in water thanks to my grubby kids and having squeezed every last drop from my Neals Yard hand cream, it’s a little tube of luxury for the hands and the nose – it smells divine!!

Have a good week peeps.
