Happy Monday! I hope it is for you, if not then I’m about to brighten your day with a big splash of colour. The Pantone colour of 2018 is Ultra Violet, but with so many pastels around this season an easier way to wear purple is in lilac shades. It’s a little more demur and will of course look gorgeous on sun-kissed skin.
As you may know, my Monday Musings post is always about items that I’m majorly loving, coverting or ordering. Last Friday I was shopping with one of my longest standing clients, and after a bit of a false start in J Crew we headed over to Sandro where we were greeted by a shop full of gorgeousness, and one of the must-have colours for the summer season, lilac. Take a peak below and you’ll see one of the displays in-store that caught my eye and inspired today’s post.
There’s lots of lovely lilac in and around the high street, and the mid-season sales. This feather make-up bag is just £4 in the River Island sale, I’d be tempted to use it as a clutch rather than to stash my make-up in. And Mango have this incredible oversized, ruched sleeve blazer in their sale at just £34.99 right now, perfect for all those summer events that don’t require a coat but a little something to throw on round the shoulders.
Next are covering off pastels and fringing in one super cute tee for just £6 (and that’s full price), which also comes in mint too. And this Zara t-shirt reminded me of the Sandro DANCING jumper, which is £155 in Harrods right now, compared to Zara’s £12.99 price tag and beaded detailing – it’s an absolute steal! I’d team that tee with this chevron print maxi skirt from Nasty Gal for a head to toe colour look, and can see how it would make a good addition to any summer wedding guest wardrobe.
Lastly, accessories. Cowboy boots are back, so if you’re hitting the festival scene this summer bag your boots now. I love this Topshop pair as the pastel colour adds a feminine edge and lighter colours are always more flattering if you’re teaming with a bare leg.
To top off today’s post this purple beret from New Look is my hit is you’re looking for a hat.
So tell me, are you loving the lilac or petrified of purple? Let me know.
