So, you could say this is very late in the day, or night as it most definitely is right now, to be posting my Monday Musings, but I’ve really had a day of it which cumulated in my key breaking in the lock of our front door on returning from the first school run of a new term, and being stranded outside the house for 2 hours! Never the less I’ve ditched Eastenders tonight to ensure I’m able to share some of my fashion favs from the past week.
On Saturday afternoon whilst visiting my friend and her gorgeous little newborn, I was sitting on the floor cooing at said bubs and managed to split the bum of my jeans! Luckily the rip wasn’t too offensive and made it home without being arrested, but that now means I really need to get my butt into gear (excuse the pun) and buy some new jeans! Late last week I popped into River Island and the pair below caught my eye with their super flattering side panel detail, mid-rise fit and decent amount of stretch. I was also on the hunt for a pair of oversized gold hoops. I never buy expensive one’s as the kids always seem to track them down in my jewellery box and use them for all sorts of interesting things, so this pair also from River Island at £6 are just perfect!
Topshop was just next door and I couldn’t go home without taking a quick peak. These embellished sliders have got Coachella written all over them if you’re looking for festival fashion footwear. I tried them on and they are stunning (especially with a fresh pedi), as well as heavy so if you miss leg day in the gym just pop these on. Team with a pair of denim cut offs and this feminine frilly blouse from Zara which is 100% cotton so perfect for keeping you stylish and cool once it really heats up.
Speaking of summer, I’m always on the look out for great beachwear, you know those amazing pieces that take you stylishly from beach to bar. These Dodo Bar Or Kika pants from Beach Cafe are pricey but will work in more ways than one in your wardrobe – a pair of pants not to be missed!
And finally, when the holiday is over you’ll need something cozy to keep you warm on that flight home. For me you can never have enough sweatshirts to snuggle up in and I just LOVE this one from H&M. That brilliant, bright white will compliment your holiday glow to perfection.
Let me know if you’re holiday shopping or festival fashion hunting at the moment, I’d love to know what you’re buying. Have a good week.
