Monday Musings

Another Monday rolls around to mark the start of a fresh week, hope you’re ready for it?  For once I’m planning ahead and getting my blog written on Sunday night (whoop…get me!), but that’s only because Team Stevens have gone on a family bike ride, minus me (thank the lord), so I have some piece and quiet to concentrate on you guys!

This weeks’ ‘Monday Musings’ sees my focus on summer holiday must-haves.  We go away in a few weeks and whilst swapping my wardrobe over I started to look at my suitcase essentials.  It was good to refocus my mind as I always feel like I’ve nothing to pack and make a desperate dash for Zara, but actually taking this time made me realise there are only a few KEY items missing, and essentially for me that’s summer dresses.  Don’t worry though, there are always a few non-related pieces that have also caught my eye, so Monday Musings, here we go.

First up, no summer holiday wardrobe is complete until you’ve purchased something from FreePeople.  It’s my go-to for anyone that has even a hint of boho babe about them and I absolutely adore this Marea tiered maxi dress from Australian label Shona Joy.  The cherry on top of all those tiers is that it’s currently less than half price in the FreePeople Sale!

Never fear if all those frills are too frou frou for you, I spy simple too.  Topshop and Mango are absolutely nailing simple summer style with maximum impact.  This linen bardot dress from Topshop is the ultimate for me, and everyone else by the looks of things as quantities are low online, so hunt it down in-store.  But  if you prefer something that offers a little more coverage across the shoulders this bright blue, puffed sleeve beauty from Mango is cute and cool at 100% cotton, a must for times when the temperature climbs, whether that’s in exotic locations or closer to home.

So that’s what you’ll be wearing whilst sipping on a cocktail or two, how about what to wear whlist travelling?  It’s always a tough one as you want to look smart, stylish and put together, equally you might worry about how hot (or cold) it might be once your plane touches down.  I love a good pair of jogging bottoms as you can rock the whole sports luxe vibe with trainers for travelling then add height (and glamour) with heels whilst away.  These Chinti & Parker cashmere joggers at Jules B are a little on the pricey side, I hear you, but it’s all about inspo when the budget doesn’t stretch.  Looking to the high end designers won’t hurt your wallet, but it will give you lots of ideas on what to look for on our fabulous high street, especially when it comes to fabrications.

I’m a real accessories girl, they can make all the difference to your wardrobe without going out and replacing everything you own, and shoes are of course a girls’ best friend.  I live in sliders during the summer months and never keep them purely for poolside.  I have an awesome pair of Adidas animal print sliders that I picked up a few summers ago, they’re hanging in there but I’ll be upgrading them soon for these Adilette Bold Slides.  I love the feminine, espadrille twist they have on the classic Adilette’s.

So, we’re looking good top to toe, now it’s all about smelling good.  Bronze Goddess from Estee Lauder is my scent.  Some people switch it up depending on the season but I stick with it year round, and always grab a bottle when I’m in Duty Free.  In the packaging of the last bottle I picked up there was a sample of the Bronze Goddess Whipped Body Cream and OH.MY.GOD, it’s a dream!  Not only does it hydrate the skin perfect but you will smell utterly divine from morning to night.

And there we have it Monday Musings all wrapped up for another week.  I’d love to hear if it’s inspired anything you’ve purchased or are about to now.

Caio for now!
