So we’re home! We made it to Rhodes and back regardless of air traffic control strikes, horrendous thunder storms and more strikes – as if travelling with two kids (and the hubs) isn’t hard enough! Anyway, as I plough through the washing I’ve realised that no matter how much thought and effort goes into what gets packed there was one item worn on a daily rotation, my denim cut-offs.
I own three pairs of denim shorts (do you know about the rule of three? Maybe one for another blog), a faded black pair from J Brand, a ripped blue pair from New Look and a slightly dresser pair that have pearls all over them from PrettyLittleThing. I want to add a pair of 501s to my collection but am yet to track some down.
Denim shorts are of course the staple to every holiday or festival wardrobe, hence today’s blog, but they’ve slowly become more main stream. During the summer months I pretty much swap my jeans for denim cut-offs, they do they same job for a jean lover like me, and they’re easy to dress up or down. Example, cool crisp white shirt with a wedge tie espadrille, or rock tee, sliders and crossbody bag, or bikini/one piece and kimono….See, three in one.
Finding that perfect pair of denim cut-offs can be just as difficult and elusive as finding the right jeans, coupled with the fact that there are hundreds of different styles, cuts, colours and details all across the high street and online….So where do you start? Well I’ve picked out a few of my favs, all in blue but some with embellishment, some with rips and of course a whole lot more to help you get going before the summer is gone!
