Monday Musings

It’s Monday and I’m back!  I know it was only meant to be a weeks break over my birthday, but it somehow turned into three weeks off and now I’ve decided to return on a warm but grey, drizzly Monday that feels like the end of summer, apparently it’s not if you believe the weather forecast.

I’ve only been back in my jeans for two days and already feel very comfortable with embracing my autumn wardrobe.  All that said I thought today’s Monday Musings should have an of eye on the forthcoming seasonal trends, but also be wearable should the sunshine make a swift return.  In the fashion world this weird in-between period we’re experiencing right now is technically known as ‘Trans’, and has led me to blog about animal print today.

It was only back in June that I wrote about my love for leopard (you can recap by clicking here), but the arrival of AW18 also sees the arrival of a high street full of various animal prints – think snakeskin, cheetah and zebra alongside our year round favourite, leopard.

Next season’s animal print is bold and brave, with mixed or matching prints and colours, can be worn head to toe and sees lots of texture too.  There are a few high street heros absolutely nailing the urban jungle style, Zara is top of the shops for me with some real wow pieces but also easier to wear items if the thought of snakeskin flares send shivers down your spin.

Here’s a quick round up from the New In sections that caught my eye, but before you head out to splash the cash make sure you shop your own wardrobe first, you don’t want to waste your money on something you already have hanging at the back of your wardrobe.
